  1. How to use JetMail FileFix
  2.  
  3. This programm makes it possible for you to connect and disconnect fileareas
  4. from this JetMail system. You don't need to install the program yourself. 
  5. All you need to do is use it. One thing is neccesary: a password. You 
  6. probably have already set this up; if not contact me first, there is no way 
  7. you can use FileFix without a password! Apart from the password, you also 
  8. need to know the name of my FileFix, "FileFix","FileMgr", "Raid", "Ticker"
  9. or "JetMail FileFix" will do.

  12. How to (dis)connect areas:
  13. ==========================

  15. Write a NETMAIL message to JetMail FileFix (or FileFix or FileMgr) on
  16. 2:2432/1101.0 (other address of course). On the subjectline you put the
  17. password you set up with this system. After the password, you could
  18. also specify some of the following flags:
  19.  
  20. -q (%QUERY)  : Send list of connected fileareas.
  21. -l (%LIST)   : Send list of connected/available fileareas.
  22. -r (%RESCAN) : Rescan the requested filearea.
  23. -h (%HELP)   : Send this helpfile.

  25. Instead of putting the flags into the subjectline, you can also write
  26. the equivalents in the braces into the message text. Note that %RESCAN
  27. works like a switch in this case. The first %RESCAN enables rescanning
  28. of the following areas and the next %RESCAN disables rescanning. To
  29. connect an area you put the names of the echomail areas you want to
  30. connect in the message text, (only 1 name on each line). To disconnect
  31. an area put a '-' in front of the area name in the messagetext.

  50. This message connects you to FAN.COMM.FIDO, FAN.COMM.MISC and JET_BETA
  51. while at the same time disconnects you from NODELIST and POINTS24. It
  52. rescans FAN.COMM.MISC, sends a list of connected and available fileareas
  53. and this help text.

  55. The available fileareas on this system are divided into groups. Maybe 
  56. you're not allowed to connect to some groups, because they are X-rated or 
  57. only accessable under other network addresses. Ask the sysop of this system
  58. for access to these fileareas.

  60. It is possible to (dis)connect all fileareas (or some specific groups) which
  61. are available with the commands

  63. %-ALL [groups]
  64. %+ALL [groups]     (or %ALL [groups])
  65.  
  66. You can partially disable/enable fileareas with the commands
  67.  
  68. %PASSIVE [groups]
  69. %ACTIVE  [groups]
  70.  
  71. If no groups are specified all groups are set to passive. This works
  72. also for groups which are normally only available under some other
  73. network addresses.

  75. The areas set to passive are not disconnected but no mail is passed to
  76. you.

  78. You can also (dis)connect fileareas using wildcards. Supported wildcarts
  79. are [], {}, * and ?.

  88. Changing Parts of your Link setup

  91. You can also change some parts of your current link setup with the
  92. following commands:

  94. %COMPRESSION [ON/OFF]
  95.  
  96. Enables or disables TIC file bundling. All TIC files waiting for your system
  97. will be put in a packet names *.?IC.
